Joint Sealant & Caulking
The first line of defense for your commercial building envelope.
The First Line of Defense for Your Building Envelope
Properly installed and maintained joint sealants are one of the most critical components of a high-performing building. They prevent water, air, and pest intrusion at the seams where different structural materials meet. When these sealants fail, they create a direct path for costly interior and structural damage.
CRG provides professional joint sealant and caulking services for both new construction and major restoration projects. We utilize high-performance, commercial-grade materials to create durable, flexible, and weathertight seals that protect your property.
- Premium Commercial Materials
- Weathertight Envelope Protection
- Enhanced Energy Efficiency
Why Professional Sealants Are Critical
Superior Weatherproofing
High-quality sealants prevent wind-driven rain and moisture from penetrating the building envelope, which is the leading cause of structural damage and mold.
Energy Efficiency
By sealing gaps and cracks, our services eliminate air leaks, significantly reducing the load on your HVAC system and lowering your building's overall energy costs.
Accommodating Movement
Buildings naturally expand and contract. We use highly flexible elastomeric sealants that can accommodate this movement without cracking or losing adhesion.
Our Installation Process
Removal of Old Sealant
We begin by completely removing all old, failed sealant and any deteriorating backing materials from the joint to ensure a clean substrate for proper adhesion.
Joint Preparation & Priming
The joint surfaces are mechanically abraded or solvent-cleaned. If required by the material type, a specialized primer is applied to the substrate to heavily enhance the new sealant's bond.
Backer Rod Installation
A new, properly sized backer rod is installed tightly in the joint. This critical step ensures the sealant has the correct depth and maintains a two-sided bond for maximum flexibility.
Expert Sealant Application
The specified commercial sealant is carefully gunned into the joint, then manually tooled to create a smooth, concave bead that ensures a weathertight seal and a clean appearance.
